The Avalanche are off to a spectacular start this season and it’s a good time to own Colorado players. Specifically, Wojtek Wolski (LW) has been doing a great job for owners who’ve noticed his recently improved production. He is quietly the starting left winger for Colorado, skating alongside the better-known Milan Hejduk and Paul Stastny. If we’re to trust Yahoo’s depth chart, Wolski has very little competition at LW, so the only real threat to his playing time and scoring would be a trade, which would only happen if Colorado felt they were weak at the position.
Wolski has eight goals and five assists this season, making for a point per game and a very nice +9 rating. He also is fifth in the league in shooting percentage, and of that top-five only Ilya Kovalchuk has more goals (with nine total). Judging by Wolski’s stats over the past few years, this production should not continue, but given how well Colorado is playing and also considering they have a healthy center in Paul Stastny, I expect him to easily top 70 points this year. Unless you’re absolutely stacked at the position, he makes for a very promising pickup.
